And our next host is… Tangier, a mythical and cosmopolitan city

Lucie Barthe

CONNECT 2023 will have its own very distinctive north African flair as we journey back to Morocco for unrivalled networking and hospitality.

Tangier is the capital of the region Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima and one of the oldest continually inhabited cities. Founded by the Phoenicians, the city opens like an amphitheatre-shaped watchtower onto the Strait of Gibraltar. The city has its own shorelines of beautiful and extended beaches on both the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts.

This has always been a meeting point for intellectuals and artists from all over the world. Through its alleyways have walked global figures from the world of art and music, such as Truman Capote, Delacroix, Matisse, the Rolling Stones, Picasso, Tennessee Williams and Paul Bowles. Tangier is also the setting of a multitude of films and books, especially of the film noir and espionage genres, the fruits of stories derived from Tangier’s past as an International Zone.

Meet our hosts: Moroccan Airports Authority and Moroccan National Tourist Office

The Moroccan National Tourist Office promotes Morocco to national and international tourists and organisations.

The Moroccan Airports Authority (ONDA) develops and manages the airport infrastructure and is the air navigation services’ provider in morocco. the organisation operates 24 airports, including 18 international airports.

“We are thrilled to welcome CONNECT to Morocco once again, this time in Tangier. Now more than ever, the recovery of tourism depends on route development. The event will be the opportunity for the aviation industry to demonstrate its resilience and that recovery is well underway. We look forward to meeting with airlines, airports, tourism office and many more!” – Mrs Habiba Laklalech, Managing Director, Moroccan Airports Authority
